Deployment considerations

Define the startup sequence of dependent services

A Germany 20 Gbps dedicated installation may need a database, application workers and a web entry point to start in a coordinated sequence. Identify those components and document the dependencies before configuring automatic startup. For each one, record what must be available and how a missing prerequisite should be reported. Compare the Frankfurt catalogue options with the resources required by the complete installation, including the components that are easy to overlook when evaluating only the main application process.

systemd distinguishes dependency requirements from ordering settings such as After. If you use it, review both concepts for the services you intend to install. Prepare a startup test that includes a deliberately unavailable dependency, and confirm the outcome against your application design. Keep the expected order and failure behaviour in the operating notes so that another administrator can understand the arrangement. Ask about the selected dedicated server installation with this service sequence already described in your configuration requirements.

Deployment considerations

Decide when an application is ready to accept work

Starting a process and accepting useful work are different checkpoints in an application deployment. For a Frankfurt 20 Gbps dedicated server, write down the condition that means the service is ready: for example, completion of an initial data load or a successful connection to a required component. Choose a check that represents the application's real purpose and define where the result will be recorded. Use this requirement when reviewing the selected plan and the software configuration it will run.

systemd supports a notification-based service type in which the application can signal readiness. Where that mechanism fits your software, review its requirements rather than assuming that a running process has completed startup. If you use another approach, document the corresponding application check and the person responsible for interpreting it. Repeat that check after a release or restart. The Germany catalogue provides several hardware configurations at 20 Gbps; include the application's readiness requirements in the installation plan before choosing among them.
